Trains from Liverpool Street, Ipswich and Norwich come into Colchester regularly, and there is a taxi rank outside the station – turn right at the bottom of the stairs off the platform and follow the signs.

Alternatively, come out of the same side of the station (north side), walk down the slope past the bus stops, turn right under the bridge and turn left across the main road when you come to the roundabout. Any bus from this stop will take you up the hill into town. Then follow the directions under ‘by foot’.

From the centre of Colchester, walk down Head Street (against the direction of traffic) towards Southway. On the left hand side of the road, you’ll find an underpass to get you under this road and onto the bottom of Butt Road. Cross the road at the bottom here to get to the right hand side and walk up the hill past the police station on your right. We’re a minute or two up the road on the right, on the corner of Beaconsfield Avenue. Outside Lawley House, there’s a sign for Baverstock’s accountants, with whom we share the building.

From London, Chelmsford etc.

Come up the A12, and go off at junction 27, taking the A133 exit to Colchester. Continue straight on for ¼ mile or so, and at the Spring Lane Roundabout, take the second exit onto the A133 (Cymbeline Way). Keep following the A133 for a mile or so. At Westway, take the third exit onto the A134 (Westway). Stay on this road, and go straight over the first roundabout. At the next one, take the third exit onto the B1022 (Maldon Rd). Take the fourth left onto Salisbury Ave, then go left at the end onto Butt Road. We’re a little further down on the left, on the corner of Beaconsfield Avenue.

From Ipswich, Norwich etc.

Take junction 29 off the A12, heading for Colchester / Ardleigh / A1232 / Harwich / A120. Stay on this road for a mile or so. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A1232 (Ipswich Rd), and head for Ardleigh (A137). Go across one roundabout, and continue for just over two miles. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto the A1333 (Cowdray Avenue). Stay on this road for another mile or so, going across another roundabout. Then, at the Westway, take the first exit onto the Westway (A1334), and stay on this road, going across another roundabout. After half a mile or so, you’ll come to another roundabout. Take the third exit onto the Maldon Rd (B1022). Take the fourth left onto Salisbury Avenue, then go left at the end onto Butt Road. We’re a little further down on the left, on the corner of Beaconsfield Avenue.
